State of the Union- Christmas Break
This wintry edition of State of the Union is a general picture of how I feel about Christmas break so far, including some visual descriptions.
IN OUT
the big apple rude people
I adore NYC, and my trip with Lindsey & Paul was amazing!! I could live there some day, but some of the naturally snappy attitudes of people there drove us all nuts.
IN OUT
Campfire smoke Cigarette smoke
Self-explanatory, and I hope you agree.
IN OUT
Sweets/desserts Healthy resolutions
I'm all for being in shape and being somewhat conscious of my personal eating options and healthy decisions, but foregoing a brownie for a celery stick is something I'll never do.
IN OUT
Go with the flow Follow plans always
I'm still all about planning and trying to make schedules, but sometimes the best memories are created from getting lost or making a few unexpected stops. Making plans is a good way to happily get to your destination and reduce stress along the way, but it's just as satisfying to do something different even if the way there isn't as comfortable.
I don't really believe in new year's resolutions... In my experience, they're meant to be broken. What I do believe in and try to actually accomplish are personal goals, in mind body and spirit. I'm glad I have some goals floating in my head for this winter break as well as this upcoming semester. I hope I accomplish some of them, and I hope even if my ideas don't go according to plan, that I have plenty of fun along the way.
