State of the Union- November 17, 2015
Because I honestly don't have time for a longer blog post, but I need to write just enough to let out my confusion and frustration and to express the few opinions I have on what in the world is going on in the world right now.
SNL actors (esp. on Weekend Update) Donald Trump (esp. on Twitter)
Solidarity, and praying for the world ISIS (need I say more?)
BuzzFeed articles (esp. for promoting good causes) Netflix binge-watching
Climbing (PS boys who climb have great calf muscles) Running (good for me, but I still hate it)
Sunburn in November Short dresses at bars in November (NO)
Drake's dance moves Me trying to imitate them
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 People who've never seen the first one
Through all the chatter and arguments about what's going on locally with the USC 2020 "walkout," nationally with ISIS threats of specific US cities, and globally with recent terrorist attacks in Paris and other cities, it can be difficult to stop and think about what YOU actually think about a given situation. What do you know, what do you think about it, and why do you or should you care? I don't always know... I'm trying to take the time to be educated about certain situations in our world and then form my own opinions on them... even if it's not a strong opinion, I at least want to have a picture in my head of what is going on and why I might care (or not care) about it, and possible what I want to do about it.
More to come as I continue writing my Autobiography for English 460, and as I 1) actually utilize my time better and 2) teach myself how to be a better blog writer.
And, as I plan to do in each chapter of my autobiography, I'd like to end with a Dr. Seuss quote.
My answer of the day (not so coincidentally something my co-instructor mentioned in U101 the other day when discussing USC's Carolinian Creed) is...
Be a good person. Be kind to people. Think before you act. Respect your surroundings.

More Thoughts
I Googled "solidarity quotes" and this is the one I liked best. It reminds me that, while solidarity is extremely important and a great way to achieve some kind of progress, it is quite impossible to "live in solidarity with others" if we don't first understand our own selves.Through all the chatter and arguments about what's going on locally with the USC 2020 "walkout," nationally with ISIS threats of specific US cities, and globally with recent terrorist attacks in Paris and other cities, it can be difficult to stop and think about what YOU actually think about a given situation.
